SOUTH NYACK - Potholes in both the south- and northbound lanes of the Tappan Zee Bridge have been fixed and shouldn't affect the afternoon rush hour, the New York State Thruway Authority said this afternoon.

Small holes developed in both directions on the bridge deck this morning - creating big traffic backups at the height of rush hour.

Thin steel plates have been put over both holes, Thruway Authority officials said.

The holes developed in areas that are being replaced. The deck replacement should be completed by the end of the year.
