Police blotter: Westchester

GREENBURGH

Central Park Avenue: A 33-year-old Yonkers man reported that a rear window was broken on his 2007 Hyundai Sonata and a Garmin GPS unit was stolen between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Friday while the car was parked at Staples, 855 Central Park Ave.

Central Park Avenue: A 56-year-old town woman reported that the passenger-side mirror of her 2006 Lincoln was stolen in the 300 block North Central Park Ave. between 4:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Central Park Avenue: A 54-year-old New Jersey man reported that the rear window of his 2009 Honda Fit was smashed between 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block Central Park Avenue.

Tarrytown Road: Alan Dixon, 48, was arrested Saturday on charges of false impersonation, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Officers responded to a report of a man on the ground, shouting at customers and refusing to leave the A&P supermarket at 369 Tarrytown Road. When officers arrived, Dixon behaved erratically and gave them a fake name, police said.

Edgemont High School: A $1,000 flat-screen television was stolen from an Edgemont High School classroom. It was last seen Friday and was discovered stolen at 7:50 a.m. Monday.

Nardozzi Place: An office wall was broken through to enter Linens N' Things. Overnight Friday, $22,000 was stolen from the 80 Nardozzi store, police said.

Eastchester Road-Station Plaza: Three teens were accused in two robberies Friday. Accused of stealing an iPod from a 16-year-old New Rochelle boy near the train station just before 6 p.m., police said, were Jeffrey Smith, 16, of 115 Old Mamaroneck Road, Mamaroneck; Mark Smith, 18, of 1440 Bronx River Road, the Bronx; and a Bronx 15-year-old. The older suspects were accused earlier in the day of overpowering a 15-year-old New Rochelle boy at Eastchester Road and North Avenue and stealing his T-Mobile Sidekick, police said. The 15-year-old suspect was referred to Family Court and the other two were charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, a felony. The victims were not injured.

Church Street: Two New Rochelle men were accused late Saturday and one early Sunday of beating up two men from the Bronx and Mamaroneck while a third intervened in their arrest, police said. A Bronx man had cuts on his right arm and back, and a Mamaroneck man had a 6-inch cut above his left eye, police said. Bennett Carlos Montesinos, 21, of 248 Centre Ave. was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, both misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Christopher J. Michaud, 22, of 140 Pelham Road and Richard J. Schiavone, 27, of 40 Davenport Ave. were charged with misdemeanor assault; Michaud with was charged with two counts.

Pelham Road: An 18-year-old New Rochelle man was accused Friday of punching a Pelham Road shopkeeper in the face in a 3 p.m. dispute over a parking space, police said. John Michael Arminio of 2 Meadow Lane was charged with misdemeanor assault. The shopkeeper, a Bronx man, was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center with a swollen right eye and a cut on the bridge of his nose.

Second Avenue: Three unlocked cars were entered overnight Friday. A wallet with credit cards and identification was stolen from one, and the vehicle title and an expired driver's license and credit card were taken from another. The third car was rifled through, but nothing was stolen.

PORT CHESTER

Poningo Street: A 22-year-old man set a small fire outside a neighbor's apartment to which his girlfriend had gone after an argument at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, police said. The burning shirt and papers were smelled by occupants of the multifamily home and quickly extinguished. Jose Ruano of 51 Poningo St. was charged with second-degree arson, a felony.

North Regent Street: Power saws and leaf blowers, valued at $6,350, were stolen from a shared, unlocked garage between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

YONKERS

Central Park Avenue: Leonides Santiago, 29, of Westbury, N.Y., was arrested Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a chemical test, both misdemeanors, after a motorist told an officer a man was driving north in the southbound lanes on Central Park Avenue near Roxbury Drive at 1:49 a.m., police said.

Elliott Avenue: Police were investigating a shooting Saturday on Elliott Avenue. They were called at 12:55 a.m. by witnesses who reported hearing at least five shots. When they arrived, police said, the smell of gunpowder was still in the air, but they found no one injured and no damage to property.

Jackson Street: Two muggers roughed up a 68-year-old city woman and took her purse on Jackson Street at 11:55 p.m. Monday. The purse contained $23, her driver's license, Social Security card and bank cards. One mugger was described as a 20-year-old black man, 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds, with a thin mustache. He wore sunglasses. The description of the second person was sketchy.
