Coming off a 23-win season, the Tuckahoe/Eastchester Hawks return to the Continental Youth Basketball League (ages 12-13) with eight returnees, including two players who were part of the starting five on last year's 23-12 team: Lavern Gilliard and Pamela Degree.

Gilliard. the point guard, is back after putting up an 8.5 points per game average with nine assists, and an average of six steals .

Degree was the team's overall best outside shooter. She connected on a league-record 48 3-point baskets average on 53-percent accuracy.

Completing this year's starting five are Darlene Lynch (six points, eight steals in 2007-08), Barbara Solomon, and newcomer Precious Foster, who comes over from the Westchester Spirit after putting up averages of eight points and 11 rebound a season ago.

Youth flag football

The following is an Independent League (ages 10-13) result:

Westchester Bengals 21, North Rockland Saints 8: Chris Griffiths (130 yards rushing) scored his 12th and 13th touchdowns of the season on runs of 60 and 22 yards as the Bengals finished the regular season 10-0.

Adult soccer

The following are Hudson Valley League results:

Southern Westchester Blast 2, Katonah Hip Cats 2: Foiling a 2-0 deficit, late second-half goals by Dave Egan and Dom DiBuono brought the Blast a tie.

Southern Westchester Blast 4, Kensico Condors 2: It was 2-2 until Mark Cipolla netted both of his goals midway through the second half, in his team's for the Blast (12-2-1).

Adult Softball

The following is a Yonkers Sports League Fall Northern Division result:

Highlanders 19, Da Beers 2: A perfect (10-0) in the team's regular-season finale, Bobby Doyle, Richie Schaefer, John Fitzpatrick, Dan Davida and Eric Yagasits, went a combined (14 for 14), and put up a teamed 17 RBI in the Highlanders behalf.

Adult flag football

The following is a New York State Fall League result:

Terrapin Station 42, Oswego Buccaneers 6: Orlando Simms (246 yards rushing), scored a season-best five touchdowns on runs of 23, 66, 31, 51 and 40 yards.

Youth basketball

The following are Westchester County Girls Athletic Association junior varsity (grades 5-6) results:

St. Joseph's ( Bronxville) 13, Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Elmsford) 12: Lucy Capobianco (nine points, 10 rebounds), and Teresa Clancy (10 rebounds) combined for 11 points during the Warriors' momentum-turning 11-6 second half finish.

Annunciation (Crestwood) 16, Sacred Heart (Hartsdale) 6: The game could have gone either way until the Knights' Hannah Berrios scored six points. Olivia Cid added four-more in a deciding 12-1 fourth-quarter push.
