Garbage chute fire in White Plains public housing tower quickly doused by sprinklers

WHITE PLAINS - A fire that sparked in a garbage chute at the Winbrook public housing complex in the city's downtown early this morning was doused by the building's sprinkler system before it could spread, a fire official said. More
